About Me

I’m Riley Jones, a data scientist interested in how people make decisions and what we can learn from the data they leave behind. I work with Python and SQL to bring datasets together, explore patterns, and build machine learning models. My recent projects compare human and AI behavior in social deduction games, examine economic change across former Soviet republics, and explore housing and quality of life in Colorado and Utah.

I came to data science through web development and retail, began studying it full-time in 2019, and completed Lambda School’s Data Science program in 2020. More recently, my coursework at the University of Colorado Boulder has taken me deeper into data mining and AI research. Across these projects, I’ve worked on data collection and cleaning, visualization, model evaluation, and LLM experiments. I enjoy turning messy real-world information into something understandable, with a clear explanation of what the results can and cannot tell us.

Outside of data science, my interests include fragrance, music, and nutrition. I’m drawn to the ways personal taste, creativity, and everyday choices intersect with statistics and technology.
